What is UCAN?

The United Cancer Assistance Network of Southeast Missouri, a 501(c)3 organization, is designed to provide individualized support for area cancer patients. Our mission is to help ease some of the burdens brought about in the wake of a cancer diagnosis, thereby enhancing the quality of life experienced by local cancer patients.

UCAN provides individualized support for area cancer patients.
UCAN seeks to fill an important gap left open by other cancer support organizations--to provide direct assistance to individual cancer patients. We're a non-profit charitable organization funded by local citizens who want to lend a hand to their friends and neighbors right here in Southeast Missouri. One hundred percent of contributors' dollars remain in our community where local cancer patients can directly benefit from their neighbors' generosity. We serve the Missouri counties of Butler, Stoddard, Dunklin, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Wayne and Carter; and Clay County in Arkansas.

The United Cancer Assistance Network has had another grand year, thanks to the generosity of our local supporters. Cancer victims have received gifts of assistance in so many forms, including nutritional support, travel assistance for cancer treatment, medical equipment and supplies, plus many other greatly needed items. UCAN is extremely grateful for all of the support!

Board of Directors

Eleven local citizens comprise the organization's Board of Directors. Board members are volunteers, giving freely of their time, energy and expertise. They share a common goal--to see local cancer patients live the best quality of life possible.

The Board periodically reviews all written requests for assistance. In certain instances, emergency meetings may be held to review special cases.

UCAN welcomes new Board of Directors member Marsha LeGrand!

Dressing Casual for UCAN

Throughout the year, we ask various organizations all over the area to dress casual for UCAN. For a dollar or two, employees are allowed to dress casual (and wear a UCAN sticker) on a designated day. Profits are then contributed to the foundation. Thanks to Three Rivers Healthcare for raising $1,696 this year! We are also thankful to Cedargate for their donation of $1,412. Should your business or organization be interested in dressing casual for charity, just call our volunteer office at the number below.
